Hainle Winery
Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery became BC’s 8th estate winery in 1972 (there are now about 300), is the birthplace of North American Icewine and became Canada’s first certified organic winery in 1988. The Hainle legacy is built on Walter Hainle’s winemaking expertise and his stroke of genius that resulted in the first production of Icewine in North America. In an attempt to salvage grapes from an early frost that threatened to obliterate an entire year of production, Walter Hainle produced the first 40 litres of Icewine.
Dead End Cellars
No Return (2016)
Dead End No Return is a stunning blend with dark red hues of cherry and blackcurrant with bold notes of ripe blackberry, cherry and stewed plums that give way to soft undertones of truffles, mocha, coffee bean and allspice. Aged for over 24 months this Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot blend showcases three amazing grapes that are defining “The New” Okanagan Wine Region.
Game Over (2017)
Dead End Game Over is a 96 point, double gold medal awarded Tannat / Malbec blend. One of only 4 BC growers to produce the Tannat grape this Certified Organic wine has color as dark ink, tannins as smooth silk with robust aromas. The palate is full of ripe blackcurrant, overripe black cherry and cassis with undertones of fresh leather and pipe tobacco. This wine can stand up to any big Napa Cab and the extreme heat in the Similkameen Valley allows the growth of big bold reds. Each bottle is hand numbered and wax dipped with the total yearly output capped at 1300 bottles.
